Work in progress

This is a short film project developed with a multiplane table, that is, several glasses at different stages (depending upon the needs) and a zenith camera above all them. All the structure is lighten up from underneath and from the laterals. This is a pre-digital animation technique, that has been used to create really amazing stuff by masters such as Yuri Norstein. The prototype I have built does not allow me to move the glasses, so all are fix (for the moment).

This technique is typically used with acetate, glass or pinted paper. In this case, I have also added materials such as clay, foam rubber, cotton and sand, which has enabled me to obtain very interesting depths and textures. The main character has been developed using the cut-out technique, so I had to build up several models and scales for the different shots. Oscar Espeso helped me with the lightening.

Next, I present a video about the multiplane (Thanks, Oscar!), a series of frames (without postproduction), and a few photos of the making off. I have uploaded in my Stopmotion Reel a few shots, to show the animated result.
